ACTIVITY 3: PAPER QUILLING- SNOWFLAKES DESIGN

According to My Modern Art website, Quilling is the art of manipulating and arranging small strips of paper into detailed designs. Depending on the desired shape and appearance, it can be rolled, looped, twisted, and curled. Glue is used to secure the paper strips into place.

Paper quilling is usually made of paper that being rolled in different styles and shapes and glued in a frame or any platform.

Now, in my project, I got the design or pattern in google that is very simple but elegant in my eyes, this is snowflakes paper quilling. In this project, I only used long bond paper that is very perfect for the color of snowflakes, 12inch size of illustration board and glue. The shapes of rolled paper I used are teardrops, tight coil, closed coil, and marquise or eye. I chose this design because, first it was very timely. It started the Christmas Season in different parts of the world. Second, it is also a symbolism of my dream in the future, to experience snow despite of the fact that I don't like coldness.

This paper quilling project was a great experience because I have new past time in the summer break or to use my leisure time in the future. I look forward to create more quilling paper projects in the future and display it in our home.
